Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are mostly created by writing down a step-by-step guide on how operators can most effectively recreate required product quality at the best efficiency. Some SOPs are also videoed, however whether written or videoed, both methods require operators to retain the shared knowhow which could cause quality non-conformances; or continually revert to the SOP which isn’t efficient use of skilled operators’ time.

The current knowledge transfer processes of safety critical operations through shadowing of skilled workers takes too long to induct new personnel and/or multi-skill existing operators, inhibiting business agility to right size or redeploy personnel to address urgent capacity bottlenecks. VIOLET will provide real-time monitoring of manual operations to de-risk accelerated knowledge transfer and to ensure SOPs are continuously improved with a robust and yet agile digitalised approach.
